State the expected viscosity of your samples in cP (mPa·s) and the sample type. Low-viscosity liquids such as inks or thin oils point to the LV series; pastes, creams and heavy coatings point to RV, HA or HB. One instrument rarely covers both ends well.

Standard models ship with a spindle set; small samples, low volumes or elevated temperatures need an adapter or a temperature-controlled accessory. Say what volume you can spare per test and at what temperature the method measures.

If your quality system requires periodic checks, add viscosity standard fluids covering your working range to the request, and say whether you need a calibration certificate with the instrument and to which standard.
They are torque ranges of the measuring spring. LV suits low-viscosity liquids; RV, HA and HB step up through medium and high viscosity. The letters set which spindles and which viscosity range an instrument reads accurately, so the sample decides the series before the model.
Standard models are quoted with their standard spindle set. Special spindles, small-sample adapters and temperature accessories are separate items, so the quotation lists them line by line when you name the sample and volume.
